Living With The Little Things: Piper “Pete” Toohey Dives Into Living Simply With Their Newest EP

Piper Toohey, a self produced artist, released their newest EP on November 24th, 2025. Let’s talk about it, because it’s the perfect soundtrack to your slow and cozy afternoons in the peak of winter.

The EP, everybody loved me and then i died, follows the themes of simple living and what that means to Toohey, that being self discovery, letting inner peace lead the way, or even something as easy as watching animals on a walk around a pond. The title song recounts the things that often people take for granted in their lives, yet Piper recounts those things as the biggest, most fulfilling parts of their life. This track speaks simply to the best parts of life. As Toohey puts it themselves in the title, finding those who love you is so deeply important, and recognizing those small things is the thing that will matter most in the end.

The production in this EP is breathtaking. On my first listen, it genuinely stopped me in my tracks. The natural sounds and simple melodies reflect perfectly with the thought-provoking lyrics, letting the listeners really take in each word and think deeply about the topics of the EP. The music is the gentle reminder that tickles your brain in the most beautiful way.

In my favorite song of the EP, Wenatchee, Toohey repeats a lesson that many in the world could stand to reflect on. They end the song with, “What a blessing, growing old.” It’s the perfect, gentle reminder that we’re only here for so long, and that life, especially its small, happy parts, are the things that we should treasure the most.

This EP left me with this phrase stuck in my head: “To be seen is to be loved.” Often times, we overlook those little moments where others show appreciation for us or even moments where we show love for ourselves in new or unexpected ways. When the world is moving too fast, those are the moments we should focus on, and Toohey’s EP will be on the front of my mind for those moments.
