Walking into an Iniko show felt like walking into another dimension. I’ve never been to a show that felt like a spiritual awakening, but Iniko held true to the title of their tour, Awakening the Empire and delivered an incredible performance at their stop at Empire Garage in Austin, TX.
Worlds Colliding
Fan connection can be a difficult thing to dial in for live shows, especially in larger crowds, but Iniko stepped on stage and the entire room snapped their attention to them and did not waver for the entire show. Each fan, whether on the barricade, or in the back of the crowd was absolutely transfixed on Iniko’s every move. Iniko was emitting their spirit into every single song and you could tell that the fans felt it too.
Spiritual Awakening
As they were leaving the venue after the show concluded, several fans described the experience to be similar to that of a religious experience, even calling it “soul changing”. Iniko has crafted a sound that not only redefines genre boundaries, incorporating several different sounds into their music, but transcends the norm of listening to music casually, allowing fans to have a deeper experience with each of their songs.
It’s incredibly obvious that Iniko leaves their soul on stage every single performance, creating a new expectation and standard for music that demonstrates a passion for the art that I’ve never seen before.
