We have a few songs we want to highlight. These are some highly anticipated songs that we think stand out from the rest, as well as from some smaller artists that deserve lots of love!

The Big Goodbye – AJR

If you know me, you know that AJR is one of my all time top favorite bands. They find the most expressive and real ways to say the things that no one else wants to talk about. This EP, What No One’s Thinking, doesn’t shy away from these topics, in fact, it more bluntly talks about the last year of their lives than ever seen before.

The Big Goodbye easily launched itself into the top 3 songs of their discography. The intro snippit has gone viral on Tiktok for the last few weeks, showing fans and non-fans alike dancing to the eclectic auctioneer style beat opening the song. Assuming that most listening came for this intro tune but left with the emotionally devastating reality of chasing dreams, moving away from home, leaving friends behind, and facing the aftermath of decisions you’ve made, all wrapped up in a catchy, upbeat bow, of course.

girls with gills – chloe moriondo

If you aren’t listening to chloe moriondo, you’re missing out. Period. Her recent album, Oyster, is one of my all time favorite albums. Overall, moriondo continues to excel in the world that she’s built for herself.

She describes this song as ‘what you hear bumping from the hottest club in Atlantis’ which holds so true from the first bars. From bubbles and sparkles, you’re having the time of your life for 2 minutes and 17 seconds, until you hit repeat of course.

Divine Feelings – Vance Joy

I know what you’re all thinking… Vance Joy? I haven’t heard that name in years *insert smoking duck gif here*. Well! If that’s you, you’ve been missing out! While he hasn’t put out an album since 2022 with In Our Own Sweet Time, Vance has been active, putting out covers and singles annually.

Now he’s back with his single, Divine Feelings, for the world to enjoy. The song documents the complex feelings that come along with crossing paths with someone monumental in your life for the first time. If anyone needs me, my 13 year old spirit will be locked in the closet getting emotional flashbacks from being absolutely obsessed with Riptide and praying for more music like Joy has provided for us today.
